Getting here by Air

Manchester is the largest international airport in the region and the third busiest in the UK. There are direct flights to Manchester from many countries.

Once you have arrived at Manchester Airport, it is very easy to get to the Lake District by train. There are directions from all of the terminals via moving walkways to the airport's own railway station. Trains run from the airport to Oxenholme or Windermere. Some of them are direct, others require a change, usually at Preston.
