Brontë Tours from Chester by Train
Brontë tours from Chester
You don't need a car to see the Lake District from Chester. From Chester the train connects onto the West Coast Main Line, heading north to Oxenholme Lake District. Our rail tours meet you at the station and take you straight into the Yorkshire moors with a local guide.
Our Brontë tours cross the Pennines from the Lake District to Haworth and the moors that shaped Charlotte, Emily and Anne Brontë, on a full day with a specialist guide.
The Brontës' Haworth
The Brontë family moved to the parsonage at Haworth in 1820, and it was there, in 1847, that Charlotte's Jane Eyre, Emily's Wuthering Heights and Anne's Agnes Grey were published. The house is now the Brontë Parsonage Museum, and the moorland behind it is still the landscape of Wuthering Heights. Our tour takes in the Parsonage, Ponden Hall, Wycoller Hall and the moors, in a small group of no more than six, with a separate driver and guide.
What you'll see
- The Brontë Parsonage Museum in Haworth, with entry included
- Haworth, the village the Brontës called home
- Ponden Hall and Wycoller Hall, both linked with the novels
- The moors that inspired Wuthering Heights
